Tiffany Michelle was born and raised in Los Angeles. A typical California girl, she began her career as a performer at the early age of ten. Tiffany sang and danced on stage in theatrical shows and toured all over the nation. She won the Lancaster Performing Arts Center award for ‘Best Young Performer’ two years in a row. Besides the theater, she was also a pageant contestant. In her career, she has won Miss Teen Newhall, Miss Teen Santa Clarita Valley, and was a finalist in the Miss Teen California pageant where she won the Miss Congeniality award. In high school Tiffany competed in speech and debate where she won numerous awards and trophies. After high school she completed a two-year program in theater from College of the Canyons. Later she attended UCLA and majored in film and television.
Tiffany has acted in everything from theater, film, and television. She has made appearances on such shows as ER, Nip/Tuck, That Was Then, and American Dreams. She had the starring role in Carrie’s Choice, an award-winning independent film. She recently appeared in the Will Ferrell comedy Semi-Pro.
Tiffany Michelle - Poker
Tiffany has quickly become a hot commodity in the poker industry. She first played the game as a kid when her brother and grandfather taught her how to play. Her mother, who home-schooled Tiffany all throughout her childhood, disapproved of gambling so Tiffany would periodically get into trouble. In 2005, Tiffany got back into poker by playing some of her actor friends in Hollywood. Even though she cleaned up regularly, she has stated they kept her around because they liked having a girl at the table. She played in cash games for about a year. It was during this time that she began to take the game seriously and pay attention to other players. Soon after, she entered her first tournament in Las Vegas at Harrah’s Casino, playing for the BombshellPoker Team. They had been looking for another pretty face and contacted her after they heard that she played poker. Tiffany did well enough at that tournament that she participated in several more, smaller events. She even played in a few charity events. In 2006, she got a job with Bluff Radio’s broadcast team providing coverage for the World Series of Poker on Sirius satellite radio. After that she became an on-camera host for PokerNews.com and covered the World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour, European Poker Tour Grand Final, and the World Series of Poker Europe. While she worked as a host for PokerNews, she continued to play online, in Los Angeles, and at various tournaments. She even appeared during the fourth season of GSN’s The World Series of Blackjack.
Tiffany Michelle - WSOP
In 2008, Tiffany gained instant fame and notoriety at the 2008 World Series of Poker. At the $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold’Em main event, Tiffany was looking like she might make history. The field was a staggering 6,844 competitors. Tiffany fought her way through and by the seventh day was in third place in chips with only 27 players remaining. She was the last woman standing and many hoped she would become the first woman to win a WSOP Main Event. It wasn’t in the cards and Tiffany busted out in 17th place. She took home $334,534 and a great deal of attention.
Tiffany also drew some controversy and criticism from her WSOP appearance. PokerStars had paid for her buy-in into the main event and for the first few days of the event, she wore clothing displaying the PokerNews logo. Before the final day of the event, after she started to gain media attention for her performance, she was approached by and made a deal with UltimateBet.com, whose logo suddenly appeared on her gear. After she busted out, PokerNews accused her of selling out and failing to represent the company that paid for her buy-in. Tiffany claimed that even though they provided her entry fee, there was no exclusive contract. The matter is currently being investigated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commision.
Tiffany Michelle - The Future
Despite the slanderous controversy, Tiffany’s success at the WSOP will no doubt open a lot of doors for her. She has recently made the decision to pursue poker full-time. Her nickname is ‘Hot Chips’ but when she plays online at UltimateBet.com, she uses the name ‘TiffanyM’. Her favorite games are Chinese poker and Stud. When not playing poker, she likes to sing and write. With her previous experience in front of the cameras along with her now celebrity status, she is a great representative for the image of women in poker.
